Services
Individual occupational therapy
One-hour sessions built around the everyday activities your child is working toward — eating, dressing, playing, managing big feelings, joining in.
- In your home, out in the community where the activity happens, or remotely by video
- Goals set with you in the first session, and revisited as your child changes
- You're part of the session rather than waiting outside it
- I can join your child during community programs — a gymnastics class, swim lessons, an after-school activity — whenever the provider is happy to have me along
Any additional cost for me to take part in a community program is covered by the family.
Parent & family consulting
Individualized support for you, whether or not your child is taking part in OT sessions themselves. In person or remotely, whichever suits. Billed hourly, and a consult can run longer than an hour where that's what the conversation needs.
- Strategies for what's often called behavior — what's driving it and what need it's meeting
- Coping-skill development, for your child and for the adults around them
- Practical ways to grow participation in daily activities: dressing, showering, eating, chores
- Home set-up and safety
A genuine option when a child isn't up for sessions right now, or when the most useful change is one the adults can make.

What the price includes.
- The session itself, at the agreed length.
- Travel within the service area. There's no additional mileage charge — what you see is what you pay, wherever in the area you are. Remote sessions are the same rate, with nothing added or taken off.
- Planning and preparation between sessions — thinking about your child, adapting what we're doing, sourcing or making materials.
- Coordination with your other providers where you'd like it — early intervention, your school district, a speech therapist, your pediatrician.
What isn't included.
- Fees charged by a community program for me to attend alongside your child.
- Equipment or materials bought specifically for your home, if we decide something is worth having.
- Formal diagnostic assessment — that's a different process, usually through your pediatrician.
Policies, plainly.
Payment
Private pay, by check or credit card. HSA and FSA cards are accepted, and OT is generally an eligible expense — worth checking, because it works out as a discount at your tax rate. Superbills are available on request to submit to your insurer for out-of-network reimbursement.
Cancellation
Sessions need to be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance. Inside 24 hours the full session fee is due.
Confidentiality
What you tell me about your family stays between us. I'll only share information with another provider — your pediatrician, your school district, a therapist — with your agreement.
The one limit, and it applies to every licensed therapist in Washington: I'm a mandated reporter. If I have reasonable cause to believe a child is being abused or neglected, I'm required by law to report it. That obligation sits above confidentiality, and I'd rather you heard it here than discovered it later.
Questions about cost and commitment.
Why private pay rather than insurance?
Practically: it means no diagnosis requirement, no cap on the number of sessions, no waiting on authorizations, and no pressure to shape your child's goals to fit a billing category. It also means I can work in your home and out in the community, which many plans don't cover well.
The trade-off is real and worth saying plainly: the cost sits with your family rather than an insurer. For some families that's the reason this works, and for some it's the reason it doesn't. Either is a fine answer, and talking to me costs nothing precisely so you can find out which before you spend a penny.
Would I get a superbill to claim back?
Yes, on request. A superbill is an itemized receipt with the codes an insurer needs. You pay me for the session, then submit the superbill to your insurer yourself and claim against your out-of-network benefits.
What comes back depends entirely on your plan — some families are reimbursed a good portion, some nothing at all. It is worth calling your insurer before you start and asking specifically about out-of-network occupational therapy, and about your out-of-network deductible. I can't promise a reimbursement, only the paperwork to ask for one.

Do you take on families outside East Jefferson County?
There are two answers, because there are two ways of working.
In person, the service area is a real limit rather than a preference — I'm driving to you, so East Jefferson County is genuinely how far it reaches. If you're just outside it, ask; it's often workable.
Remotely, the reach is the whole Olympic Peninsula, at the same rate, for both direct sessions and family consulting. So being outside driving range doesn't rule it out — it changes what the sessions look like. More on remote sessions.
